Trash in the final

We are finalists in the "Bern Upcycling Challenge 2026"

We are delighted to receive a special recognition: formcollection has been nominated as a finalist in the Bern Upcycling Challenge.

The competition honors projects that transform disused materials into new, high-quality products, thereby contributing to the circular economy. The aim of the challenge is to promote innovative business models and ideas that drive sustainable change in the regional economy.

Our work shows that seemingly worthless materials can be given a second life—not as a compromise, but as a consciously designed object.

Design from existing elements

At formcollection, products are created from materials that already have a history. Instead of consuming new resources, we work with existing materials and transform them into durable objects through design, craftsmanship, and technical precision.

For us, upcycling means more than recycling.
It is about rethinking the value of existing materials and giving them a future.

The nomination confirms this approach and shows that design, innovation, and the circular economy are increasingly coming together.

Looking ahead

The winners of the Bern Upcycling Challenge will be honored at the Circular Economy Forum. Prizes totaling CHF 30,000 will be awarded.

For us, just being nominated is a huge motivation to continue on our path: transforming materials with a past into products with a future.
